Tech giant Intel announced on May 4th that it has acquired the Israeli MaaS travel planner, Moovit for $900 million. Moovit serves 800 million travellers worldwide, in 3,200 cities, 103 counties, and 45 languages. Data in the Moovit travel app is maintained by nearly 700k on-the-ground editors or ”Mooviters.”
Moovit will be integrated into Intel’s autonomous driving arm, Mobileye, with the intention of becoming, ”…a complete mobility provider, including robotaxi services, which is forecast to be an estimated $160 billion opportunity by 2030.”
