The Integrated Transport Research Lab (ITRL) at KTH Royal Institute of Technology has released a new report entitled Values of MaaS potential impacts based on Representative Scenarios (VMaRS). The report asks: what impact will MaaS have on variables like private car usage/ownership, vehicle kilometers traveled, CO2 emissions, and fuel consumption? Given the uncertainty and ever-changing nature of of MaaS, the report investigates these questions in four different scenarios with varying assumptions about levels of support from public policy makers and public transit agencies. The report shows, among other things, how the full benefits of MaaS are dependent upon proactive planning and policy making. The report can be read here.
